I attended The University of Western Ontario for undergraduate studies focused on health promotion in the context of individual and population health. As a strong proponent of the biopsychosocial framework to health, I embarked onto medical school. My unique experiences while living and studying abroad in St. Vincent and Chicago allowed me to form rich relationships with patients. Engaging with my community and caring for patients exposed to trauma helped me actualize how medicine transcends the clinic setting. I witnessed firsthand how social determinants of health manifest in everyday life. I saw how deeply personal development, self-esteem, and a sense of identity are tied to our heritage—and how those connections can subtly but profoundly influence health outcomes. This realization strengthened my dedication to learning more and giving back through meaningful, culturally grounded work.
I’ve since worked with Chicago - based rapper Vic Mensa and Toronto - based Indigenous artist Que Rock to raise awareness on the importance of culturally based care. After graduating from medical school, I broadened my knowledge and skill set by entering the world of digital health. In this space, I was reminded of the persistent gaps in care and how they impact both providers and patients. These insights deepened my passion for improving healthcare at a systemic level, with a focus on physician and student wellness, as well as the chronic disease burden. This journey led me to pursue a diploma in lifestyle medicine through the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine, which has since helped me redefine how I practice medicine. I recognize that health is multifaceted, and I aim to inspire self-awareness and a growth mindset in all aspects of life—because our mindset, identity, and behaviours are deeply connected to our health and wellbeing. I am a dedicated health advocate and have spoken to youth groups at the University of Manitoba, as well as community organizations and public schools across Chicago and Toronto. Outside of work, I enjoy walking, exploring vibrant cities, solo traveling, boxing, sipping chai lattes, and leaning into personal growth.
From Mysore to Mississauga, London to Ratho Mill, and finally Chicago to Toronto. I've had the privilege of living, learning, and growing in India, St. Vincent, USA, and Canada. However, in 2021, I had the stark realization that life was happening to me. I wasn't an active participant in my life. I had unquestionably immersed myself in a field of study for 10 years only to find myself questioning everything I had ever been taught. Including myself. Board exams were a marker of time and my scores a reflection of my self worth. I was going to become a doctor, I had a purpose in life. But, I had completely lost myself. I guess this was rock bottom. I was stuck in the pond muck beneath the water. Here, I was forced to self-reflect and consequently flower into a beautiful lotus.
I didn't find myself. I found the inspiration to create myself.
Not living in accordance with your value system can be painful to your soul, and negatively impacts your physical health, and mental wellbeing. After deep self-reflection, I recognized my true life purpose was to help people feel good about themselves, step into their most authentic, and liberating identity.
I've gained knowledge from my lived experiences, formal education, and professional work and I designed InspiredTo so that I can share this knowledge and foster a growth mindset for health and wellness.
My message to you is fierce:
"Foster the courage to self-reflect and you'll find the inspiration to create yourself".
Lifestyle Medicine has become one of the fastest-growing medical specialty. It is evidence-based and grounded in the same scientific understanding of disease as conventional (allopathic) medicine. What sets it apart is its focus on preventing, treating, and even reversing chronic disease using lifestyle interventions and behaviour change as primary treatment modalities.
It draws on clinical, motivational, and environmental principles, and deeply acknowledges the role of social determinants of health—recognizing that where and how we live, work, eat, sleep, and connect all shape our wellbeing. The six pillars of lifestyle medicine include:
⭐️ a whole-food, plant-predominant eating pattern
⭐️physical activity
⭐️restorative sleep
⭐️stress management
⭐️avoidance of risky substances and
⭐️positive social connections.

Sky's The Limit
It wasn’t until the end of my medical education that I began to understand what medicine truly was. I witnessed a concept [health] that was forever evolving but always rooted in the basics. I’ve travelled the world, hit rock bottom and found the courage to stand up again! The biggest challenge of my journey has been unlearning. Unlearning the poor lifestyle practices and negative thought patterns that perpetuate disease. Studying lifestyle medicine has been extremely gratifying and I strive daily to embody its principles. I look forward to upholding these values and sharing knowledge such that you are inspired to create your best self!
